!±8± Portable Propane Grills: Three Unique Grilling Ideas

Literally anything can be grilled and made to taste great if you do it properly, and with a portable propane grill you have even more reason to learn some new recipes because you can have your grill wherever you go.

I've gone out and found 3 great and unique grilling ideas to use on your portable propane grills:

Grilled Pound Cake

This is a really great dessert recipe that is really easy to prepare, can be done anywhere, and is a really unique way to have pound cake. It's very easy to cheat as well because you can easily pick up a pound cake from a corner store if you have access to one.

To make this all you need to do is slice up the pound cake, keep the slices fairly thick, and quickly place it on the grill. Only let them char slightly as you don't want to burn them. They only need to be on long enough to warm them up and to show that they've been on the grill.

This is a great dessert recipe to use on your portable propane grill while you're camping because it's easy to bring and store pound cake. To spice it up you can try adding ice-cream and some berries.

Grilled Tomato

Seems basic and simple but the options are limitless when it comes to grilling stuffed tomatoes. You might be wondering what you can stuff it with though.

Tomatoes are great because you can slice them into large slices and grill them as they are or you can halve and stuff them with anything from just cheese to bacon and eggs. They are very easy and quick to do as well because all you need to do is cut the tomato and half, preheat your grill, stuff with what you want and grill on medium with the lid down for 5-7 minutes.

This is simple snack recipe to use when you're camping or tailgating and works really well on portable propane grills because it only requires a small cooking area to do a number of these.

Grilled Pizza

Something you may not have thought of doing and that's great for the family and a perfect size for portable propane grills is pizza.

This is really simple recipe to do. Using your favourite dough recipe roll it out into the shape of a pizza and lightly grill for 2 minutes over medium heat covered. Once that's done simply take it off the heat and put your favourite toppings on the grilled side and then transfer back to the grill for another 2-3 minutes covered.

You'll probably only be able to do one at a time depending on how many you want to make but they are very easy, and they don't take very long, and if you cook the different bases as you prepare the cooked ones they should all come out around the same time.

Conclusion

There really is no limit to what you can do on portable propane grills; you just need to be willing to experiment. Other great ideas for grilling are grilled pineapple, grilled zucchini, or even something simple like grilled prawns.
